Tomorrow could be a defining moment for tokenized securities in the United States. The SEC's Investor Advisory Committee meets March 12th to vote on a formal recommendation for tokenized equity standards. The draft covers atomic settlement, intermediary regulation, and investor safeguards. It's not binding — but it signals where rulemaking is headed. And when the SEC starts defining the rules, institutions start building to them. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq-Kraken partnership announced Sunday continues to reshape the landscape. Kraken's xStocks platform has already settled four billion dollars directly on-chain, with twenty-five billion in lifetime volume. They just launched an xPoints program to bring DeFi builders into the tokenized equities ecosystem. This is what distribution looks like when infrastructure meets regulatory clarity. And BlackRock's BUIDL fund — over two billion in tokenized Treasuries — is now trading on Uniswap's decentralized infrastructure. Whitelisted institutions swapping tokenized T-bills twenty-four-seven with stablecoins across Ethereum, Solana, and BNB Chain. I've seen this cycle before. Infrastructure builds, regulation follows, then scale becomes inevitable. Tomorrow's SEC vote is the regulation-follows phase in real time.
