Their press release says it’s about "evolving the operating model" and creating "tighter, more accountable squads." Internal sources insist it's not AI replacing workers. But here's the thing — LinkedIn sells Sales Navigator licenses, recruiter tools, marketing placements, and Premium subscriptions. None of those product lines require the same headcount they did five years ago. Not because the business shrank. Because AI now handles significant chunks of what humans used to build, maintain, and support. Saying the quiet part loud: fewer management layers = fewer jobs. That's not organizational agility. That's a layoff with a better vocabulary. Microsoft did the same thing when they cut 6,000 people recently. Same script, different letterhead. I spent 15 years in sales enablement training reps on tools exactly like Sales Navigator. I understand the value these platforms deliver. Sandy Adam a publié ceciI've spent my entire career inside technology — an early adopter, never afraid of what came next. So when I tell you the current pace terrifies me, I hope you'll understand this isn't fear of the unfamiliar. I'm an American who chose to build a quieter life in France, and from that distance, I've been watching the world reorganize itself at a speed that feels, frankly, reckless. A friend recently shared a question from a chat we were having : If AGI takes all the jobs, who is buying anything? It sounds almost naive. It isn't. It's one of the most important economic questions of our moment and the people accelerating this technology don't have a clean answer for it. Henry Ford doubled his workers' wages in 1914 so they could afford to buy the cars they were building. He understood something fundamental: you cannot have a consumer economy without consumers who have income. That logic hasn't changed. What's changed is that the people building today's tools don't seem particularly worried about it. The tech optimists have answers. New jobs will emerge. UBI will bridge the gap. I don't dismiss any of that entirely. But every one of those solutions requires decades of careful policy work and the displacement is happening in years, not decades. Extreme caution is not opposition to progress. I use AI every day and find genuine value in it. What I'm arguing for is a pace that allows human systems (legal, political, economic) to adapt in real time rather than scrambling after the damage is done. We've seen what happens when we skip that step. We deregulated financial systems and got 2008. We deployed social media without thinking about its effects on democracy or adolescent mental health. We're still living with both. The question isn't whether AGI will change everything. It will. The question is whether we have the collective wisdom to demand it happens at a speed humans can actually absorb — and the courage to say so before the momentum becomes unstoppable. I'm not sure we do. That's what terrifies me.

Sandy Adam a partagé ceciWhen You've Spent Years at a Cybersecurity Software Company, You Notice Things On April 4th, I received a suspicious SMS from a Philippine number (+63 948 287 3288) impersonating the "Wisconsin DMV," warning me of a pending traffic item that needed immediate resolution or I'd face administrative actions and credit impacts. My immediate reaction? Delete. But first — screenshot. Here's why that mattered. I'm an American expat living in Chatou, France. I have absolutely no active dealings with the Wisconsin DMV. I moved to France in September 2025. But I DO have an active dossier with the ANTS (Agence Nationale des Titres Sécurisés) — France's government portal for driver's licenses, passports and national ID cards. Five days before that SMS arrived, ANTS had contacted me requesting additional documentation - specifically images of my Wisconsin driver's licenses to establish my driving history longevity. Five days later. Wisconsin DMV. Philippine number. Coincidence? I think not. Fast forward to April 20th — the French Ministry of the Interior publicly confirms that ANTS was hit by a cyberattack on April 15th, with up to 19 million accounts potentially compromised. My suspicious SMS arrived 11 days before the officially acknowledged breach detection date. I filed a report with PHAROS (France's Ministry of the Interior cybercrime platform) today, including the full timeline. Whether it helps investigators establish an earlier breach window, I don't know — but it's on record. What you should do if you have an ANTS account: 1. Change your password on ants.gouv.fr immediately 2. Be extremely suspicious of any SMS or email referencing your license, passport or identity documents 3. Sandy Adam a partagé ceciYesterday I spent four hours in an outdoor photography class in Paris… conducted entirely in French. Now, to be clear—my French is somewhere between high A2 and low B1. Not exactly “comfort zone” territory for a technical class. And yes, I probably understood about 40% of what was said. But here’s the thing: it was enough. Because I cared about what I was learning, I leaned in. I followed along. I asked questions when I needed to, and I stayed in French—even when it would have been easier for the instructor to switch to English. By the end, I had completed every exercise, connected with genuinely kind people, and even had a few of my photos shared with the group. That’s a win. Too often we wait until we feel “ready” before trying something new. But readiness is overrated. Progress happens when we’re slightly uncomfortable, slightly unsure, and fully willing to try anyway. Don’t be afraid to stretch yourself—whether it’s a new skill, a new language, or a new environment. My mantra: A day without learning something new is a wasted day. What’s something you’ve been holding off on because you don’t feel ready yet?

It’s hard to summarize more than two decades in a single post, but I want to express my gratitude to the people who made this journey meaningful. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of the smartest, most passionate, and genuinely caring individuals in the industry. Many of you taught me something, challenged me, supported me, or simply made the hard days easier. The memories span everything from TechReady and MMS to late‑night Insider meetings, offsites, happy hours, and countless moments of teamwork and laughter. What I’ll remember most isn’t the stress or the grind — it’s the people. I’m exploring all opportunities, including the possibility of returning before my termination date, but I’m also embracing whatever comes next with optimism. Thank you to everyone I’ve worked with over the past 23+ years. I’m grateful for the role you played in my time at Microsoft. The friendships and connections mean more than I can say. Fourteen months later, that vision has grown into a business spanning the Americas, and I'm honored to help lead our next chapter. Looking back, it's incredible what this team has accomplished together: 🟣 Grew our team from 8 employees in North America to 28 (3.5x growth) 🟣 Scaled revenue in North America by more than 25x 🟣 Expanded our business into Latin America While I'm proud of those milestones, I'm even more proud of the people behind them. None of this happens because of one person. It happens because of an incredibly talented team that cares deeply about our customers, challenges each other every day, and believes in building something special. A sincere thank you to Chris Whife, Ian Cullen, Terry Kelleher, and our leadership team for their trust and support. And thank you to every member of the ProspectBase team who's been part of this journey. It's been a privilege to build alongside all of you. Sandy Adam a réagi à ceciSandy Adam a réagi à ceciI've been putting this off. But I guess it's time. Last week I celebrated 25 years at Xbox. This week the journey unexpectedly ended. I never thought of my time at Xbox as a "job". I never thought of the people around me as "coworkers". When I started in 2001, I joined a group of like-minded individuals with a passion and determination to do something special and make a difference in an industry I love. We became friends, compatriots, and family. And we made a difference. I will cherish the memories I made with these people, and the many more I encountered along the way. An unfortunate number of them also lost their jobs this week. But I do not envy those left behind. I wish them luck. I'm not sure what's next, but I look forward to finding out, meeting new people, and making more memories.

Sandy Adam a réagi à ceciSandy Adam a réagi à ceciI've always been someone who takes short breaks throughout the year to recharge. A long weekend here, a few days there. But lately, I realised it wasn't enough. So, I took the plunge and did something I hadn't done in years—I took a full month off work. I'll admit, I struggled with the idea at first. I worried that being away for that long would somehow be detrimental to my work, my customers, or my performance. Looking back now, that's completely ridiculous. The truth is, it was one of the best things I've ever done for myself. Yes, I answered a few emails early on (old habits die hard!), but eventually I let go and allowed myself to properly switch off. What followed was something I hadn't realised I needed so badly. I spent quality time with family, created memories that will last far longer than any meeting or sales target, travelled to new places, and had experiences that broadened my perspective. Along the way, I made new connections and met some incredible people whose stories and outlooks inspired me. Most importantly, I gave myself permission to rest. After a month away, I've returned feeling refreshed, energised, and with a renewed appreciation for both my work and the life that exists beyond it. It's a reminder that taking a meaningful break isn't stepping away from success—it's investing in it. If you're someone who's been putting off a proper holiday because you think the world will stop turning without you, trust me—it won't. Your inbox will survive. Your work will be there when you get back. And you might just return as a better version of yourself. I want to thank Mark Rogerson for stepping in for me when required and the entire Quest Software Melbourne team, Stephen Morris, David Morris Caren Caren Ng - Quest for assisting 💗 Bella Hodgman and Quinn Francis thanks for being a part of it.

I spearheaded and accomplished raising of $1 million in funding for construction of a 2-mile segment of the Oak Leaf Trail by working with local businesses on cash and in-kind construction donations.
