Today, HubSpot Academy has announced that its course library is also available in 5 new languages (German, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Japanese). For example, Unilever's ice cream brand (Heartbrand) is sold in more than 40 countries, under different local names. In the UK, they’re known as Wall’s. In Italy, you’ll see Algida, in Germany they’re Langnese, and in Brazil they’re called Kibon. Here are some reasons why this may happen: - Change the product’s brand name as it has a different meaning in a foreign language - Translate it to the local language in order to make it easier to pronounce - The name was already trademarked by another company - Keep using an established brand name after acquiring a local business Any other sample? #internationalmarketing #marketing #branding

Thiago Glober liked thisThiago Glober liked thisFour years ago I introduced Career Clinics into JLA Group to help support colleagues that were looking to develop or pivot their careers without having to leave the business. Over the years there have been many people that have moved into different roles, shadowed different departments to gain work experience or just simply wanted advice on how to push their career forward. The type of advice I give is not rocket science, I am nowhere near smart enough....I think I barely got through my science GCSE! BUT....these few tips have helped me over the years and have hopefully helped a few people I have given advice to! 💡 Do more than just your 'job' : If you are wanting to progress within your department / role and you are doing your job well, that's great but it wont make you stand out. Reach out to your manager and ask what more can I do?What else can I help the team/department with? This goes hand in hand with the point below! 💡 Be a problem solver: When most people see problems in processes/systems etc they will naturally want to complain or moan about them to their colleagues. Very rarely will somebody rub their hands together and think 'Hmm I can propose how we can do this better or fix this and add some real value here!' - be that person! 💡 Network: If you work in an organisation and you want to progress, you already have one up on external candidates. Use MS Teams like a little black book....if you see a role within the company that aligns with your ambitions and skillset then reach out directly to the department head to understand more about the role - humanise yourself and become more than just a CV! 💡 Get Sh*t done: You are your brand! Every interaction at work , the way you respond to an email / query is how you will be known within the office. Be the person that is known for getting sh*t done! If a colleague, department or customer have a problem or query they need help with you have 2 options.....pass it on or take ownership and deal with it...when you chose option 2 every time you will start to get noticed and your stock will rise! 💡 Don't fixate on Academics: if you got great results in University / College / A levels well done! If you didn't do a course or degree that result in a job then you don't need to worry....real world experience, hard work, resilience, determination to get the job done all stand out a lot more than a 1st in Politics! In my AS level results I got D.U.D...yes thats right, DUD! I did resit everything and get A.A.B but I will never forget them reading out DUD in the library! 😲😂 Career progression isn't an overnight thing. You need to be confident that you are already operating at the next level so that when a new opportunity arises you are already in everybody's mind for that next step! Sometimes the behaviour above might even create a new role for you!

Thiago Glober liked thisThiago Glober liked thisThis morning I had the privilege of attending an event at Dublin City University, marking 7 years of DCU Access and share a new research report. ESW has proudly supported ATTW and DCU Educational Trust since 2020, and it was great to see the impact of the initiative. Some highlights for me: Daire Keogh reminded us that ATTW isn’t just a “nice” thing to do - it’s the right thing to do. With 4,000 students graduating from DCU in the coming weeks, each with a unique story and lived experience, it’s clear that diversity of thought and background is essential for business and society. Hearing directly from students whose internships opened doors and built confidence was incredibly moving. The keynote from Mark Hatton really resonated. Like me, he came from a one-parent, low-income household, and spoke about how DCU Access (and a very supportive Mam!) helped him build a network and unlock opportunities. His story is proof that with the right support, the impossible becomes possible. Mark commented that ATTW often shares the quote "Talent is equally distributed. Opportunity is not" with students. And it's why initiatives like ATTW and companies offering internships really matters. Thanks to Dublin City University and all of the speakers for a lovely morning.
