How do you evaluate reasoning in frontier AI models when the math is Olympiad level and every logical dependency matters? Salesforce AI Research developed Hard2Verify to benchmark step level verification across open ended competition problems sourced from IMO, Putnam, and INMO. Turing executed high precision annotation at scale: • 200+ long form model outputs evaluated • 8 to 15 structured reasoning steps per solution • Binary step grading with written justification • Zero tolerance carry forward policy • 500+ hours of expert annotation • 100 percent rubric compliance under Salesforce’s 3 tier review process If one step failed, all dependent reasoning steps were marked invalid. No partial credit. No vague logic accepted. Average effort per solution: 90 minutes for primary annotation 63 minutes for review This dataset now enables detection of early reasoning failures, verifier stress testing under strict logical dependency, and alignment of LLM outputs with human grade mathematical standards.
