Activist Sonam Wangchuk has issued a message from Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital, where he was shifted after 21 days of an indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar. In a post shared through his wife, Gitanjali J Angmo, Wangchuk described his hospital stay as "illegal detention" and appealed to supporters to make the planned July 20 march to Parliament a major success, calling it India's "second freedom movement".Delhi Police said Wangchuk was shifted to the hospital on medical advice and in compliance with directions of the Delhi High Court after concerns over his deteriorating health. The police denied detaining protesters or using lathi charge during the transfer, stating that officers exercised maximum restraint despite attempts by some supporters to stop the move.Meanwhile, Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke alleged that authorities were preparing for a crackdown ahead of the Parliament march and shared visuals purportedly showing RAF personnel near Jantar Mantar. Wangchuk has been on an indefinite hunger strike since June 28 over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination, while organisers say the July 20 protest will go ahead as planned.
