Brian Caldwell liked thisOur new front-of-shirt sponsor 🤝 Welcome to the team, LIME. I am proud to announce a new three-year partnership with LIME, who will be Motherwell Football Club's Front of Shirt Sponsor from the start of the 2026/27 Scottish Premiership season. The agreement marks another exciting milestone for the club, representing the largest partnership in the club’s history. Lime continues to invest in Scottish communities, sport and the future of sustainable energy. The company believes in backing people who work hard, think differently and strive to improve every day. Those values are shared by Motherwell Football Club, making this partnership a natural fit. As one of Scotland's fastest-growing renewable energy companies, Lime is helping homeowners and businesses take control of their energy future through smarter, simpler solar and battery solutions. This partnership represents more than branding on a football shirt. It reflects a shared commitment to community, progress and building a brighter future. My sincere thanks to David Turnbull, Paul McLernon, James McLernon and Jonny Wilson. Cannot wait to get started! For any business enquiries, please contact: lime.online/motherwell

Brian Caldwell liked thisBrian Caldwell liked thisA key aspect of our success last season was the team's ability to defend set plays. Really proud to end with the best defensive record in the league. We worked meticulously on these moments, on the organization against different routines and the mentality to defend. As always, full credit to the players. One key takeaway for me is to be flexible in the setup in order to counteract the opponent's threats, rather than sticking with one strict organization. It was my first season in a while being responsible for this phase, alongside Greg Spires and Jonathan Obika. Top work!

Brian Caldwell liked thisBrian Caldwell liked thisLast Friday I hosted Motherwell Football Club's 140th Anniversary Gala Dinner. I honestly wasn't quite sure what to expect. What I got were the characters. The people who shaped this club and the people who love it, all in the same room. Mrs Baillie set the tone. The landlady of the pub on Merry Street where, on the 17th of May 1886, a committee sat down and decided to start a football club. She was our narrator for the evening; sharp, dry, and immediately loved by the room. Through her we heard John Hunter speak about Hugh Ferguson. George Stevenson arrived with a 1952 Scottish Cup winner's medal that had, at some point, made its way home in a Lidl bag from an Edinburgh car park. Bobby Ancell on why he trusted young players to think. Then Willie Pettigrew, Stevie Kirk, John Gahagan. Three brilliant former players with completely different stories about what Motherwell meant to them. And Ian Rankin. Sixty-odd years at Fir Park. Started as a steward and still there on the Phil O'Donnell door every matchday. When his name was called for the inaugural Club Historian Award, nobody needed it explained. What stays with me is just how much there is to this club. A pub in Lanarkshire. A committee with an idea. 140 years of players, managers, moments - some genuinely extraordinary. And now, next season, European football. A new chapter being written while last Friday's memories are still fresh. The evening was made possible by the tireless work of the Motherwell FC Heritage Trust and the Former Players Club. Everyone involved should be proud of it.
