Todd Lockley shared thisWhat a fantastic video to promote the great work Mencap and other organisations do to support people with learning difficulties and disabilities into employment. Proud to be part of an organisation that offers Supported Internships as a pathway to permanent employment. Well done Aaron 👏👏👏Todd Lockley shared this"Don't limit us because we have a learning disability. Include us and offer us the same opportunities as everyone else." Aaron has been working as a kitchen porter with BaxterStorey for over a year, after joining Mencap's Supported Internship programme. Now he's part of the Job Squad, helping show that people with a learning disability belong in every workplace. He has been loving his job and says the team treat him the same as everyone else, supporting him when he needs it. We are thrilled to announce that Aaron has recently won best Kitchen Porter of the Year in London for BaxterStorey. Todd Lockley shared thisAs we near the completion of the second year of our Supported Internship Programme at Marston's PLC, I am so proud of the commitment and passion that our pubs have shown once again to support young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities with the development of their skills to find employment. This year we increased the number of learners on programme with us by 400%, partnered with new colleges, education providers and charities and if I am honest, part of me worried that we may have grown too quickly following our pilot year. Well... the results are simply outstanding, and so are the personal stories along the way which are testament to the hospitality industry being one that paves the way in the support of people from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds. 80% of learners who completed their extended unpaid programme have now gained permanent employment with us in our pubs and have started their careers in hospitality with a bright future ahead of them. This is an increase from our year 1 programme and has set the bar extremely high for the year 3, but those who know me know how competitive I am, so challenge accepted! We also saw another 4 learners undertake work experience in our pubs through our partners and will welcome some of them onto the full programme next year. Seeing our General Managers and Pub Partners share their journeys across our comms platforms to the wider estate fills me with pride, whilst also engaging the rest of our teams with the desire to get involved to hopefully change a young person's life with the opportunity of finding a role in the future. Of course, we could not do this without the support of our partners who support our learners and pub teams every shift and help us navigate the programme with the learners at the heart of everything. We are proud to work alongside you and look forward to supporting more young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities next year! Thank you to Landmarks Specialist College, Mencap, Derwen College and Rotherham College. The Supported Internship Programme has to be one of the most fulfilling and rewarding areas of my job and seeing our pubs making such a positive impact on a young person's life is a privilege to be a part of. If anybody reads this who helps place supported interns onto these programmes and you think Marston's can support, please pop me a message and we can have a chat. Todd Lockley reposted thisTodd Lockley reposted thisEngland vs Mexico. 450 Marston's pubs open late. More than 120,000 drinks served. One truly unforgettable night! ⚽ From 11pm to 5am, our local pubs were at the heart of the action - packed with fans, nerves and celebration. The Swan in Mansfield, The Arrow in Yeovil and The New Spires in Coventry led the way, with our Grandstand sport pubs delivering record nights across our estate. 💬 As Jared Sedgwick, Director of Operations, put it: "Last night was something truly special - the kind of night that everyone who was there will remember for a lifetime. Every pub that opened delivered something brilliant. Our teams were absolutely fantastic and they've more than earned their lie-in this morning." Now we do it all again on Saturday... Here's a glimpse of the atmosphere at The Boundary in Alfreton - fans, community and shared good times in full voice. #WorldCup2026 #MomentsThatMatter #PassionatelyLocal

Todd Lockley shared this🌟🌟 Moments That Matter 🌟🌟 To mark National Supported Internship Day 2026 I am thrilled to hear that one of our learners from Landmarks Specialist College has secured paid employment at Gamston Lock. Rhia started her placement with us in September last year and has impressed from day one so it came as no surprise to me yesterday to hear that she will be starting her paid employment with us in April. Thank you to the WayFinder team for all of your support with all of our learners and I couldn't post this without a shout out to Terry Titley who always puts his hands up to not only support young people with learning difficulties, but is always open to supporting people from disadvantaged groups. #supportedinternships #nationalsupportedinternshipday2026 #momentsthatmatter #hospitality Mike A. Todd Lockley shared thisVery proud to represent Marston's PLC today at Number 10. Always a pleasure to share a room with like minded employers who not only believe in second chances, but act to support people into employment. Offering a job to a prison leaver not only helps fill vacancies and reduces reoffending, it supports those impacted by crime such as families and friends. I was inspired to hear from Lord Timpson about the great progress made in prison leavers securing employment within 6 months of release (18% up to 36%) and the plans for ‘challenge 50’ to allow us to continue to drive this agenda. Jane Murray George WelbornTodd Lockley shared thisProud to see our very own Todd Lockley representing Marston’s at 10 Downing Street earlier today 🙌 Hosted by Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy and Lord Timpson, the event brought together leading employers and Employment Advisory Board Chairs to celebrate progress in supporting prison leavers into meaningful employment - with Todd attending on behalf of Marston’s. We were especially proud to hear recognition for the impact of our Excel programme, with the Deputy Prime Minster praising our work in getting prison leavers into meaningful employment via hospitality academies at HMP Liverpool, Stoke Heath and Styal. 💬 On the visit, Todd said: “It was an honour to be invited. It reflects not only the hard work we’ve put in over the last three years, but also the incredible support from our partners at Novus, the New Futures Network and HMP Prison and Probation Service in driving this important programme forward.” Since launching in 2022, more than 90 prison leavers have secured roles with Marston’s through Excel, with retention rates averaging significantly above the sector average. We can’t wait to see how this important project progresses throughout 2026 and beyond 💛 #Hospitality #HospitalityCareers #MomentsThatMatter New Futures Network Novus - Foundations for Change Ministry of Justice UK

Todd Lockley shared this🏆🌟Employer of the Month🌟🏆 As part of our Supported Internship Programme which supports young adults with learning difficulties with practical work experience, I am delighted to say Marston's PLC have been chosen as the Mencap employer of the month. We started supporting learners with Mencap across our pubs in September last year and following 3 successful placements at The Wig & Walnut in Northampton, we are delighted to see our first intern be offered a paid role at the pub. Our Supported Internship programme is in its second year and through the support of a number of specialist colleges and organisations, we hope to see around 20 learners gain valuable skills to help them start their careers in hospitality. Jay the General Manager and his team have gone above and beyond during the last 6 months to support learners with learning difficulties through internships and work experience opportunities. The commitment of the team has created a safe environment of support and guidance to help set learners up for success and the skills needed to secure employment in the future. We could not be prouder of the team and Lillie who will start her paid position with us shortly. Mencap added “The team have fostered a positive, inclusive learning environment by encouraging questions, offering reassurance, and creating space for reflective learning. They have shown flexibility in adapting tasks for all our learners and ensuring they feel comfortable and safe within the workplace. Overall, the employer’s support has played a key role in our learner’s progress and has contributed to a valuable and engaging placement experience”. Todd Lockley liked thisTodd Lockley liked thisI'm delighted to share that I have recently been appointed Chair of the Employment Advisory Board (EAB) at HMP Oakwood. Having sat on Employment Advisory Boards for a number of years, I've always been inspired by the ambition, collaboration and determination of those working to improve outcomes for individuals within the criminal justice system. The opportunity to now chair an EAB is both a privilege and a responsibility that I am incredibly proud to take on. HMP Oakwood is a G4S run, Category C men's prison in the West Midlands and is home to one of the largest prison populations across HMPPS. I've never shied away from a challenge, and I'm excited to work with partners across the establishment to help create meaningful pathways into employment and support successful resettlement outcomes. Throughout my time on Employment Advisory Boards, I've had the privilege of serving alongside and learning from exceptional Chairs, including Patricia Pelfryman and Sharon Robinson. Their passion, leadership and commitment to supporting prison leavers into sustainable employment have been a real inspiration, and I will undoubtedly draw on those experiences as I begin this new role. Today, I had the pleasure of meeting Carmen Watson DL, FCGI, Hon DBA, FREC, High Sheriff of the West Midlands, although we realised we had already met through the Inside Job, Reverse Mentoring Programme earlier this year. Carmen, your passion, energy and drive for change within the rehabilitation space is truly inspiring. It was a pleasure to talk all things rehabilitation, employment and social impact with you. A huge thank you to Theresa Salisbury, NFN and Laura Dwight, Prison Employment Lead at HMP Oakwood, for arranging the visit and for the warm welcome. Thank you for inviting me into this role. I look forward to working alongside you, the Oakwood team and our wider partners to build on the fantastic work already taking place and create even more opportunities for the men at Oakwood. Here's to the start of an exciting journey and to what we can achieve together. #Amey #Rehabilitation #Employment #ReducingReoffending #CriminalJustice #HMPOakwood #EmploymentAdvisoryBoard #PartnershipWorking Jon Floyd

Todd Lockley liked thisTodd Lockley liked thisTEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK 💯 Today myself and Graham Frost were up early waiting at the gates of HMP Oakwood to pick up a gentleman who had been on their peer led recovery wing and wanted support from Release Mates Charity 😊 When he was released, even though anxious, he greeted us with a big smile and thanks for being there. It was his first time in prison, for a drug related offence and he is desperate for it to be his last 🫷 We shared stories in the car about how we were able to turn our lives around. On the drive to Liverpool we took him for a MacDonalds, set up his Universal Credit Claim, took him to probation and sat through his appointment with him, then took him to his accommodation 💥 At his new property we helped him in with his belongings and he was proud to show myself and Graham Frost the cardboard cartoon characters he had made inside! We provided him with food, clothes, toiletries and will be speaking to him tomorrow 👾 Another great day, another person supported and safe, I love our team at Release Mates Charity 💗
