Betsabe Botaitis shared thisNext week I’ll be joining TabbFORUM’s Women in Digital Assets Forum in New York for a conversation on stablecoins, tokenization, and market structure. As I’ve shared before, the conversation around digital assets has shifted quickly. What once felt theoretical is now becoming operational. Finance leaders, regulators, institutions, and policymakers are all trying to understand what these technologies mean in practice, not just in headlines. What I find most interesting is the growing focus on infrastructure. How money moves. How settlement works. How global access expands. And how we build systems that are more efficient without losing trust, accountability, or stability along the way. There’s still a significant gap between the speed of innovation and the readiness of many organizations to adapt to it. That gap is where many of the most important conversations are happening right now. Looking forward to the conversation alongside a powerful group of women helping shape the future of digital finance. Betsabe Botaitis shared thisThe Fortune Most Powerful Women list came out today, and it is fantastic to see Jane Fraser at the top. Such a well-deserved recognition. During my years at Citi, I had the privilege of seeing Jane in action several times, and she remains one of the leaders I most admire and aspire to emulate. What always stood out to me was not only her intellect and strategic clarity, but the way she makes people feel heard and valued. She brings a calm and composed presence, builds genuine relationships, and has the ability to go incredibly deep into the details while still leading with empathy and humanity. Jane is not only an outstanding female CEO, but truly one of the great CEOs and leadership examples on Wall Street today. It is also a great honor to continue serving as one of the ambassadors for Fortune Most Powerful Women alongside so many exceptional leaders. Grateful to be part of a community that continues to elevate and support women shaping the future of business and finance. Congratulations again to Jane and to all the incredible leaders recognized this year. Of course, every day is MPW day for us—but today, we’re launching the 2026 edition of the Fortune Most Powerful Women list. Now in its 29th year, the ranking highlights the leaders commanding boardrooms, markets, and industries. And for the first time since 2024, we have a new No. 1. Citi chair and CEO Jane Fraser has ascended to the top spot, five years after she got Citi’s corner office. Fraser broke Wall Street’s glass ceiling when she became the first woman CEO of a major bank in 2021. Her rise exemplifies how this list tracks not just who has an impressive title, but what they are doing with it—with hard business metrics to back that up. (Last year’s No. 1, GM chief Mary Barra, is at No. 2 this year.) Claire Zillman has an amazing feature on Fraser's Citi turnaround (link in comments). The women on this list are leaders at 94 companies with a combined 11.8 million employees and $7.3 trillion in annual revenue. They hold 180 board seats and work across 20 countries and territories. The tech and finance industries dominate, but women are breaking through in other sectors, too—among them bp’s Meg O'Neill (No. 16), Big Oil’s first female CEO, and Latriece Watkins (No. 87), the new CEO of Sam's Club at Walmart (who I wrote a story about - link in comments!). We chose these executives based on the size and health of their businesses or P&Ls, measured by both 12-month and three-year financial data. Plus, we evaluated their influence, innovation, career trajectories, and efforts to make business better. Our 2026 list brought some striking trends into focus. The rise of women in AI is undeniable, exemplified by Fidji Simo (No. 28), who has an expansive role at OpenAI as CEO of AGI deployment. And take a close look at the CFOs on this ranking: Nearly every major player in AI has a female CFO leading its finance operations. These women—from Sarah Friar at OpenAI (No. 90) to Amy Hood at Microsoft (No. 38)—are making spending decisions that will determine the future of their companies, this technology, and even the global economy. Sheryl Estrada has a great story unpacking why women are dominating these jobs at a pivotal moment and what it means (link below!). Shoutout to my colleagues Ellie Austin Claire Zillman Matthew Heimer Lee Clifford Ashleigh Nghiem Jen Magee Alyson Shontell Sydney Lake Indrani Sen Lydia Belanger Chelsea Hudson Patrick Reilly and many more who were so instrumental in bringing the list to life this year. And, to celebrate, the Fortune team and a few of our actual MPWs will be ringing the closing bell at the NYSE today! (Thank you Lynn Martin, No. 47 😉) Let us know what you think of this year's list. What trends are you spotting and what does it say to you about how women are wielding power across global business?

Betsabe Botaitis shared thisAs I read Bela Bajaria’s story, I kept thinking about a recent panel at the A LA LATINA International Women’s Day event where we spoke about how difficult it is to talk about setbacks openly. Stories like hers stay with me, not because of the title at the end, but because of everything that had to happen before it. We see the headline, a $17B budget, Chief Content Officer, shaping what the world watches. What we do not always sit with are the moments that did not look like progress. Being raised by her grandparents while her parents lived in another continent, building a career from scratch, and then being fired publicly with years still left on a contract is not the kind of path anyone plans. Those experiences are uncomfortable and often isolating but they are the ones that quietly redefine how someone shows up afterwards. What stands out is not just the comeback, but the decision not to shrink after a setback. Instead, there is more clarity, more conviction, and a stronger sense of direction. We tend to connect stories once they make sense. In reality, most of the important parts are lived in the middle, when nothing feels certain and the outcome is still unwritten. Thank you Shivani Berry for sharing.Betsabe Botaitis shared thisUniversal fired her — publicly. Today, she runs Netflix's $17 billion empire. Bela Bajaria was born in London. Her family was Gujarati Indian. At four, her parents moved to America. They overstayed their visa. They became undocumented. So she was left behind in London. Raised by her grandparents. Her parents an ocean away. She reunited with them in LA at eight. Her father was running a car wash. American TV became her teacher. Bewitched. Dallas. Dynasty. She used it to decode a country. "I grew up as an Indian girl in the U.S. and never saw myself anywhere," she said. "Being the oldest child, I absolutely felt a responsibility to succeed." She climbed the TV industry. In 2011, she ran Universal TV. The first woman of color. To lead a major TV studio. She championed The Mindy Project. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Voices the networks had ignored. Then in 2016, she was fired. Publicly. Brutally. Two years left on her contract. "All those amazing shows, all these great relationships… it meant nothing," she said. Until the phones started ringing. Today? ↳ Chief Content Officer of Netflix ↳ $17 billion annual content budget ↳ 300 million subscribers, 50 languages ↳ TIME 100 Most Influential People ↳ Board of Coca-Cola She greenlit Squid Game. Stranger Things. Bridgerton. Wednesday. Adolescence. Baby Reindeer. The Indian girl who never saw herself onscreen. Now decides what the world watches. She calls her division the "studio car wash." Every part must work together. The lesson her immigrant father taught her. She didn't shrink after being fired. She didn't play smaller the next time. She came back bigger than her setback. Your setbacks aren't your ceiling. The ending you fear, might be the beginning you need. --- ♻️ Repost to inspire someone rebuilding after a setback. 🔔 Follow Shivani Berry for the next post about women breaking barriers.

Betsabe Botaitis reposted thisBetsabe Botaitis reposted thisMost finance leaders talk about controlling costs. Betsabe Botaitis, CFO at P2P.org, talks about building. "What excites me most about P2P.org is the opportunity to build. The industry still feels like a blue ocean, where there is space to innovate, improve processes, and create real impact." Betsabe brings more than 15 years of experience across traditional finance, fintech, and emerging technologies. At P2P.org, she leads global financial operations while treating finance as something more than a reporting function. A few things she says that are worth sitting with: "Finance today can play a much broader role than traditional reporting. It can help drive strategy, enable better decisions, and support innovation across the entire organization." "Sustainable organizations don't rely on individual heroics. They rely on strong systems and strong teams." "Growth doesn't happen in isolation. It comes from constantly expanding your perspective." For finance professionals thinking about a move into blockchain infrastructure, this is a direct window into what leading finance at a serious Web3 company actually looks like. Betsabe Botaitis shared thisComing out of the Eve Wealth Summit last week, what stayed with me most is how much the quality of the room shapes the quality of the conversation, because who is present, how people engage, and whether there is enough trust to move beyond surface-level narratives ultimately determines the depth and usefulness of any exchange. Elaine Asher, Sadie Raney, and the team were intentional about creating that kind of environment, and that intentionality was evident throughout, from the caliber and mindset of the people in the room to the tone of the interactions and the carefully curated panels and presentation. One idea that kept surfacing is that we are not moving toward “institutional DeFi” but toward embedded financial infrastructure powered by blockchain, where stablecoins, on-chain rails, and APIs operate in the background and the user experience becomes the product, until eventually we stop calling it DeFi and simply call it finance. At the same time, we are creating new asset classes in real time, forcing changes across accounting, regulation, and treasury strategy, which signals structural transformation rather than incremental progress. On a personal level, it was valuable to reconnect and deepen relationships across the ecosystem. I would also love to highlight the atmosphere in the room - vibrant, full of color, and reflective of each woman bringing her authentic self. That energy created a unique sense of openness, support, and genuine collaboration that elevated the entire experience. Maggie Hsu Cathy Yoon Stephanie V. Betsabe Botaitis shared thisI’ll be joining the upcoming Eve Wealth Summit 2026, where I’ll be part of a panel on “The Institutional Future of DeFi.” I’m looking forward to the discussion alongside Lee Schneider, Stephanie V., and Cathy Yoon, moderated by Maggie Hsu. What stands out in recent conversations is how much more precise the questions have become. The focus is no longer on defining blockchain or validating crypto, but on understanding how these systems integrate into existing financial institutions and where they can meet institutional standards. This is where the conversation becomes more substantive. From stablecoins and treasury management to staking, infrastructure, and access, the emphasis is on where DeFi is already delivering value, where it still faces constraints, and what needs to evolve across regulation, usability, and operational frameworks for broader adoption. Looking forward to contributing to this conversation. If you will be there, I welcome the opportunity to connect.

Betsabe Botaitis shared thisOne of the greatest privileges in my role as CFO is sitting with peers, many of them CEOs and financial leaders outside the industry, and translating what blockchain actually is and where it fits, not as hype or speculation, but as infrastructure that meets the standards they already expect. Every day, headlines focus on volatility, risk, and the pressures shaping the crypto industry. That is the starting point for most conversations. But the reality is different. When approached with the right governance and discipline, blockchain is not a fringe experiment. It’s part of the future of finance, and in many ways, that future is already here. That’s why it matters to see this perspective gaining broader visibility. In Fortune CFO Daily, I shared how I think about bridging two worlds that increasingly need to understand each other, and how we’re putting that into practice at P2P.org. We’re still early, but the conversations are getting sharper, more grounded, and more constructive. Thank you to Sheryl Estrada for the conversation and the opportunity to help demystify this space. Betsabe Botaitis shared thisThe role of a CFO goes far beyond the numbers. It’s about being strategic. It’s about connecting dots others might not see. And it’s about bringing your full network, perspective, and experience into every room. That came into focus for me during the Digital Asset Summit 2026 in New York. On day one at the conference center, I had the opportunity to reconnect with former colleagues and people who’ve been part of different chapters of my career. It was energizing, and a reminder that relationships don’t reset when you change roles. Reconnecting reminded me that the real value of a network is built over time, through trust, shared experiences, and consistency across chapters. I was also proud to represent P2P.org. It’s a proven solution, well-recognized brand, and I’m surrounded by colleagues who are deeply respected in the industry. That shows up in the rooms you walk into. One highlight was spending time at the New York Stock Exchange with leaders, partners, and friends who’ve each played a role along the way. It also made me reflect on something I could do better: being more intentional about staying connected earlier, not just in moments like this. Grateful for the conversations and the reminder. #Leadership #CFO #DAS #FintechBetsabe Botaitis shared thisLast week, during the Digital Assets Summit (DAS) in New York, P2P.org hosted The Table, New York Edition, at the legendary Chelsea Hotel. Known for its history of hosting artists, writers, and thinkers, the Chelsea felt like the right setting for an evening centred around conversation, a place where ideas have always been exchanged, challenged, and shaped over time. The dinner brought together a curated group of founders, investors, and ecosystem partners, designed around one simple idea: creating the right environment for meaningful dialogue. No panels. No formalities. Just a table, the right people, and the space for discussions that don’t happen elsewhere. As the digital assets industry continues to evolve, these moments matter more than ever, where institutional relationships are built, perspectives are shared, and future collaborations begin. Here is a video testimony of the great times shared. Thank you to everyone who joined us at The Table, NYC 🏙️ and follow us to make sure you don't miss the next editions.

Betsabe Botaitis shared thisMarch has been a whirlwind. And I don’t want it to end without once again celebrating International Women’s Month. This month, I had the opportunity to attend the an event hosted by A LA LATINA, Claudia Romo Edelman, Cynthia Kleinbaum Milner and Carolina Guardiola Romo. And like many of the spaces they create, it was thoughtful, energizing, and deeply intentional in how it brought people together. There were many powerful moments, but one thing I was reminded of stayed with me. It goes back to advice I often share - especially with women who ask how to stand out, how to be heard, how to make their presence felt. Bring your originality to life. Intentionally. For me, that has meant embracing bright colors, often a monochrome look. Not because it’s about appearance, but because it’s about being seen, being remembered, and creating a connection between your executive presence and your voice. In fact, during a panel at A LA LATINA, someone stopped me afterward to tell me she remembered a specific comment and my blue dress. The only problem? I hadn’t made that comment, the panelist next to me had. Clear evidence that your presence matters and that how you show up can make you more memorable. And here’s what I’ve learned: ✨ It doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. ✨ Your originality doesn’t need permission - it needs expression. ✨ And it should support, not distract from, the value you bring. We spend so much time focusing on the work. But how we show up is also part of how that work lands. As we close out this month, I’m reminded that originality isn’t just personal, it’s powerful. Let’s keep showing up fully, intentionally, and as ourselves.

Betsabe Botaitis liked thisThank you Sheryl Estrada for adding visibility to this one. Lots more to come on how we think about the economics of AI.Betsabe Botaitis liked thisIs your AI paying off? Today, OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar published the scorecard she uses for telling whether you are actually getting economic value from AI spend. For years, software success was measured through adoption—seats, active users, and renewals, Friar notes. She argues that AI is different: it must be measured by the work it actually accomplishes. “The basic economic question facing CFOs and other business leaders is whether the value of the work AI completes grows faster than the cost of producing it,” Friar wrote in a blog post. Answering that question, she says, requires going deeper than simple metrics like cost per token. Betsabe Botaitis reacted on thisHonoured to Chair the Community Finanance Partnership Taskforce comprised of dedicated institutions and leaders in Community Finance, partnering with Responsible Finance, British Business Bank, HM Treasury, leading banks and CDFIs to significantly expand access to finance for small businesses in the UK. Thank you especially to JPMorganChase and BNY for your recent support for strengthening the capacity of the CDFI sector to reach even more businesses. Theodora Hadjimichael is a great partner!Betsabe Botaitis reacted on thisTuesday night marked a defining moment for the sector, with our CEO Theodora Hadjimichael and Bob Annibale, Chair of the Community Finance Partnership Taskforce, at Mansion House for one of the country’s most significant economic and financial events. The Mansion House speech is a major moment in the financial calendar, bringing together leaders from government, banking and the wider finance sector to set the direction for the UK economy. The Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, spoke about the importance of growth reaching every part of the country and highlighted the expansion of the British Business Bank Growth Guarantee Scheme, which will also support the expansion of community lending through the Community ENABLE Funding programme. This increased support will help CDFIs reach even more businesses across the UK. CDFIs back ambitious businesses that can struggle to access mainstream finance, helping entrepreneurs invest, create jobs and strengthen local economies. We’re thrilled that CDFIs are part of the Government’s wider SME finance package and are increasingly recognised as an essential part of the UK’s finance ecosystem. Throughout the evening, there was a chance to meet and catch up with colleagues from banks, government and partner organisations. It was really encouraging to see how widely CDFIs are now recognised for their role in supporting communities from the ground up – and how their knowledge and relationship-based lending unlocks opportunities for underserved entrepreneurs. Through the Community ENABLE Funding programme, continued support from JPMorganChase (thank you, Colleen Ebbitt, Conor Hillery, Stephanie Mestrallet), new support from BNY (thank you, Sandy F. Charlotte O.) and the work of the Community Finance Partnership Taskforce, CDFIs can unlock the capital, referrals, capacity and infrastructure they need to help even more small businesses realise their ambitions. Betsabe Botaitis liked thisI am absolutely thrilled to be able to continue to support Elizabeth Campbell and the team at CoAction Global as a founding Board member. It’s a joy to be able to hearken back to one of my first deep areas of interest (my undergraduate concentration was in development economics!) and, in a post-DOGE world, to help bring to life a model I believe the world urgently needs. That model is evidenced by our initiatives, such as Mission300, which catalyzes the next generation of African energy leadership, and by the values that guide CoAction Global’s work: - partnership - local leadership - evolved systems thinking - accountability, and - courage. I’m honored to serve alongside a stellar group: Jessica (Jessye) Lapenn , Ramsey Day , Bathsheba Crocker , and Christopher Timura. And I’m grateful to Liesbet Steer for her ongoing friendship and historical efforts as we launched this new organization into the world. Separate but related: I just finished reading “everything is tuberculosis” by @john green, and if you somehow still persist in thinking we are not all interconnected across this planet of ours, I’d encourage you to give that book a spin.Betsabe Botaitis liked thisWe are thrilled to introduce our board of directors, comprised of experts whose careers have spanned senior-level government roles, the private sector, civil society, the law and academia. Betsabe Botaitis liked thisLast October I had a chance to bring my dad to the Anchorage Digital office in New York. I’m so grateful I did. Throughout his life, dad would be frustrated with things like Bluetooth, so fully comprehending Blockchain was a work in progress :) - but I could tell that he was so proud of me. As a CEO for over 30 years, he understood the most important investment you can make — People. How we spend our time and who we spend it with matters. I want to thank my colleagues and clients for the kindness and grace they have shown me this past month and to everyone for supporting my family. Working at Anchorage is such a privilege and recently, it has felt like a blessing. Thank you all 🫶

Betsabe Botaitis liked thisBetsabe Botaitis liked thisBeing a CFO is the hardest job in finance. Every other executive experiments. You commit. Every other function has an undo button. Yours doesn't. Now add AI to that seat. The CEO wants a plan. The board wants a number. The vendors want a signature. And nobody has actually done it before. That's the conversation I keep having at the dinners I host in London. Not sales calls. Dinners. Nobody selling, nobody pretending they've got it figured out. Just CFOs, Controllers, and VPs of Finance who are done carrying it alone. I'm hosting the 4th one on July 16th. If you've been carrying that weight alone, come put it down for a night. In every economic system I've worked in — traditional finance, venture capital, family offices, even most DAOs — wealth and power are the same thing. More tokens = more votes. More shares = more board seats. More capital = more control. We've accepted this as natural. It's not. It's a design choice. And it's the wrong one. The C3 Alliance separates wealth accumulation from governance participation. Completely. By design. In the token architecture. Here's how it works: COMM (Commons Coin) is your wealth token. It represents your stewardship stake in the cooperative. You earn it. You accumulate it. It appreciates as the cooperative succeeds. You can use it as collateral for VELOC credit lines. At the highest tiers, you get 0% interest on credit backed by your COMM holdings. COMM is your financial reward for contributing to the commons. PPT (Patronage Proof Token) is your governance token. It represents your ongoing contribution to the cooperative — not your historical wealth. PPT is earned through active patronage: completing Impact Offers, participating in Vickrey Auctions, contributing to faction governance. Your PPT weight determines your vote, your influence, and your standing. COMM has zero governance rights. Zero. You can be the wealthiest member of the cooperative and have no more voting power than someone who joined yesterday — if you stopped contributing. Conversely, you can be the most influential governance participant with modest wealth, because your PPT reflects what you're doing now, not what you accumulated in the past. This is not theoretical. This is enforced in the token contracts. COMM tokens carry no governance metadata. PPT tokens carry no wealth transfer rights. They exist on separate rails, with separate contracts, serving separate purposes. Why does this matter? Because every other system I've seen — including most "decentralized" governance tokens — conflates economic success with political power. The result is plutocracy with extra steps. DAOs where whales control governance. Cooperatives where founding members entrench themselves. Family offices where generational wealth compounds into generational control. The C3 Alliance says: earn all you want. Accumulate as much COMM as your contributions warrant. But if you want governance power, you show up. You contribute. You earn it fresh, every cycle. Day 1: SEID — sovereign identity. Day 2: Three-faction governance — structural power balance. Day 3: Dual token path — wealth and power on separate rails. Tomorrow: VELOC — what happens when your reputation becomes better collateral than your property. → C3-Alliance.org #C3Alliance #Tokenomics #CooperativeEconomics #Governance #Web3 #DeFi

Really enjoyed this discussion on investor relations for startups. The biggest takeaway: consistency and transparency are the foundation of strong founder–investor relationships. Founders often feel pressure to put a positive spin on updates, but experienced VCs have heard plenty of tough news before. Good investors don’t panic when times are tough—they lean in to help you work through them. Exciting to also see that Carta is rolling out new tools to make it easier for founders to keep investors updated on financial metrics.
