I am thankful to my family for their unwavering support and last but not last to Microsoft and Meta for generously covering most of the tuition. Your support and investment in my growth have been invaluable. This journey has equipped me with a wealth of knowledge that I have already begun applying in various aspects of my life. From sharpening my critical thinking and writing skills to approaching decision-making with a greater chance of success, this program has provided me with invaluable tools. However, the manual process of estimating how much a patient will pay after insurance is error-prone, expensive, and time-consuming. Po 3 letech v basketu mě to táhlo zpátky do světa velkého byznysu, a tak jsem od května zakotvil jako Senior PR a Content manažer v Rockaway Capital. Rockaway už na českém trhu zvládla dokázat hodně a věřím, že ještě hodně předvede. O private equity, technologiích, e-commerce, digitalizaci i kryptu jsem jako novinář psával, teď budu u všeho podstatného hned z první řady a v týmu, který tyto věci sám tvoří. NetEase tested millions of short videos. Most flopped completely. Then researchers built something that changed everything. 70% of videos got zero views. 87% of users ignored everything they saw. Sound familiar? Current recommendation engines fail when feedback is sparse. Researchers Junyu Cao and Yan Leng had a breakthrough. They created the "Adaptive Acquisition Tree" (AAT). Here's how it works: 📊 Groups users by demographics and behavior 🎯 Clusters videos by type (dance, comedy, education) 🔄 Continuously refines groups based on viewing time 📈 Adapts to changing preferences in real-time The results? Mind-blowing. AAT boosted viewing time by 30% to 100% in simulations. That's potentially doubling TikTok-style engagement. But here's the bigger picture. This isn't just about short videos. The same approach could transform: • Search engines • Advertising platforms • Content moderation • Task matching systems "It's the same goal: acquiring data to better understand the people on the platform," explains researcher Yan Leng. The key insight? Stop treating all users the same. Start with broad groups, then split into smaller clusters as you learn. This research shows AI recommendation systems are far from perfect.
