In my first exposure to 2GuysTek I was happy to see recognition that Nutanix AHV hypervisor is the clear choice for enterprise customers evaluating the post-VMware world. I've learned so much in this company, from how to scale products to how to always be customer-focused (NPS 90). It was Dheeraj Pandey's focus on building a great company. It was Sachin Chheda's passion for work. It was Avinash Shetty's jokes. It was Thomas Cornely's French ways. It was Vishal Sinha and Pranav Gupta's engineering dedication. It was Anindo Sengupta’s and Amit Gupta’s “We have to get the message right” focus. It was Rose Batia and Jennifer Keyes landing us in MQs, Waves, MarketScapes, and all the right documents. It was Tanu Sood leading a GTM Campaigns and Maya Bibi creating world-class events. It was Mandy Dhaliwal's focus on building a world-class marketing team. It was the good times with Lee Caswell, Kanchan Mirani, Paul Updike, Harsha Kotikela, Jose Gomez, and Laura Jordana. #CloudManager grew from single-digit ARR to quarter-billion revenues. #AgenticAI is growing There were product launches, SKOs, .NEXT, Keynotes, EBX, roadshows, and partner events. But what matters at the end of the day are the friendships and the fun of doing it all. Quand on cherche à moderniser son infrastructure et à s'affranchir de VMware, deux approches s'affrontent aujourd'hui pour unifier le monde des Machines Virtuelles (VM) et des Conteneurs. D'un côté, le challenger Open Source : KubeVirt (souvent poussé via Red Hat OpenShift). De l'autre, la plateforme cloud d'entreprise : Nutanix (NCI + NKP). Pourtant, le vrai piège est de croire qu'ils répondent au même besoin. Le choix n'est pas seulement technologique ("la VM dans le conteneur" vs "le conteneur dans la VM"), c'est avant tout un choix stratégique d'exploitation et de TCO. KubeVirt : L'approche "Kubernetes-Centrique" (Le syndrome du "Build-it-yourself"). Ici, Kubernetes est le maître absolu. Les VM tournent encapsulées dans des Pods. L'attrait : Une API unique, idéal pour les équipes qui visent le 100% GitOps. La réalité (TCO) : KubeVirt reste une fonction greffée sur une plateforme de conteneurs. Working in the Sillicon Valley for the last 26 years, experienced 3 economic recessions and waves of technology revolutions, I gained this perspective of working life: it’s like surfing. Each company is like a wave, you catch it, ride it until the wave ends for you, then you swim out, trying to catch the next wave. If you are tired, rest on the beach watching your friends riding, then they give you inspiration to swim out again to catch the next wave. Each company gives you a lot of benefits, friendships, knowledge, experience, money , joy. … So enjoy the ride my friends. The waves are coming!

Why pay for SaaS when you can prompt your way to your own stack? Here’s the espresso machine math. A $6,000 machine pays for itself, the salesman says. At $6 a latte, that’s 1,000 coffees. Three years of daily drinking before you break even. Except you also need the grinder, the beans, the milk frother, the descaling ritual, and the YouTube education on pressure profiling. And two years in, you’re still stopping at Starbucks on the way to the airport. Now you’re paying for both. That’s the “build your own Salesforce” pitch. The demo is the shiny machine on the counter. What’s missing is everything that makes enterprise software actually work: permissions, audit trails, compliance, integrations, uptime SLAs, the poor soul who maintains it when the person who prompted it into existence leaves the company. Salesforce isn’t expensive because CRUD apps are hard to write. It’s expensive because running mission-critical software for thousands of people, for years, is hard to do. I say this as someone bullish on AI in software. TinyFish uses it for design, planning, deployment, config, code review. The productivity gains are real and I’ve watched them compound. But “AI makes engineers faster” and “your ops team can replace SAP with a long weekend and a prompt” are two different claims. One is happening. The other is self-serving social media noise Buy the espresso machine if you love making espresso. Just don’t pretend it’s a cost decision.
