Michael Gussow shared thisFor those who know my story and passion for technology, creativity, and philanthropy can attest, finding a role and a company in which these core tenets could somehow be woven together has been the topic of discussion I’ve shared over the last few years. Essentially trying to bring my professional and private advocacy agendas together to give greater meaning and derive greater satisfaction from the work I do. Well, I couldn’t be more excited to announce such a role and company exists and I’ve recently joined the global design firm HKS, Inc. as their new Chief Information Officer. I'm helping a client and professional colleagues of mine over at Legal Resources / Attorney Live with several critical employment searches. For those not familiar with these businesses, Legal Resources is an established, 30-year-old company and a leader and innovator of legal insurance services in the employee benefits industry. Attorney Live is a legal technology tele-law platform launched in 2022, connecting individuals with high-caliber attorneys on-demand. The company has 2 very important full-time positions which will straddle their time across both brands. These positions are not your ordinary "follow the establishment rules" kind of positions as seen in large rigid enterprises but instead the company is looking for 2 very accomplished and creative experts that will help usher in an appropriate blend of IT delivery best practices as well as be the technology force behind the development of their new mainstream product offerings. Michael Gussow shared thisI had the absolute pleasure of attending the 2023 South Florida ORBIE Nominee Reception this week with a good number of the local nominees, the SouthFloridaCIO / Inspire organizers, event sponsors, and nominee guests. It was very humbling to be surrounded by so many talented professionals and experts from a wide range of recognizable institutions and companies from the area. Albeit personally rewarding to have this level of recognition, it was also somewhat awkward to be there knowing the members of the Generali Global Assistance | Travel Insurance (GGA) IT organization which had invested equally as much over 2022 were unaware of the honor being bestowed because of my recent departure. To ensure there is full awareness, I wanted to make sure I shared the recognition of this nomination, via this repost, with all my former GGA IT colleagues as they are equally deserving of the accolades for their herculean and amazing efforts in 2022. It was truly a game changing year in IT and for the company to which every member of GGA IT personally sacrificed so much. Our victories of 2022 have been recognized by the “IT Industry” which is something far greater than even I could have imagined. I don’t know if we will actually win the final ORBIE award for South Florida but the nomination and recognition by our IT industry peers in itself is just remarkable.
