Seth Shaw liked thisSeth Shaw liked thisI’m always surprised when I hear from other marketers that three of the most critical marketing functions are either under-funded or non-existent on their teams. These are the three most under-hyped marketing teams that no marketing leader should live without: 1️⃣Project management, or PMO I’ve never had a true project management function before and I don’t know how I survived without it. At Calendly we have extremely experienced project managers who not only help us with the tactical execution of our campaigns but they: ➡️Drive our annual and quarterly planning ➡️Manage our weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting on OKRs ➡️Proactively identify when Calendly’s marketing campaigns are about to go sideways and jump in to get them back on track ➡️Build templates and processes in Asana which is the nerve center of our team 2️⃣Analytics Ten percent of my headcount is dedicated to analytics. We also have an outside analytics agency that builds our multi-touch attribution models and works with the other parts of Calendly to create common data definitions and warehousing. It’s not the sexiest part of marketing but having good data and dashboards is the only way you can justify your marketing budget - unless you have magical unicorn CEOs and CFOs that don't care about ROI (and lucky you if that’s the case!). Good data also prevents non-demand gen teams from perpetrating random acts of marketing and enables every marketer to make smart decisions on where to invest their time and dollars. And all of our dashboards tie back to revenue, not leads or pipeline, since that’s actually what’s important to the business. 3️⃣Solutions marketing Our solutions marketing team is at the heart of almost all of our initiatives and yet many marketers I speak to build this function last or not at all. They’re experts on our customers in a way that goes beyond our product marketers’ knowledge, which enables them to create the most relevant and targeted solutions pages, sales enablement materials, webinars, and emails that speak to our customers’ needs rather than to our features and functionality. Solutions marketers are particularly critical in PLG orgs where we have a heterogeneous user base and we need customized full funnel materials for the handful of personas and industries that drive the majority of revenue. Otherwise you risk the content appealing to no one because you’re trying to appeal to everyone. Agree? Any additional teams I missed?

Seth Shaw liked thisSeth Shaw liked this👋 As some may know, I made the decision to leave Airtable in Sept after 1.5 years of incredible experiences and growth, a week before an unexpected layoff. If you are looking for amazing CSMs, please message me! Before announcing the new venture I’ve been working on, I want to express my gratitude to my colleagues that made this next leap possible... --- 🍷 Strat West "Coastal Cabs" & CS: I'm beyond humbled to have learned from the extraordinary individuals across CS at every level. Each day, they showed remarkable dedication and the ability to deliver impact to our customers, our team, and our ever-evolving culture amidst radical change. I'm proud of hiring 3 of the TOP CSMs to join an already ELITE team (Cameron C. Connor McCloskey Kristen Easton. It felt like a lottery draft with all #1 picks, especially when Lila Cantor joined us after opening the UK office. We handled one of the largest territories by ARR, achieved some of the highest NDRs with some of the largest $$ ARR accounts at AT. Not possible w/o strong partnership w/ my Sales counterparts and their teams Alex Weinstein Joe B.. What's more, it was incredible to witness the human growth. To see many of them start their family and balance so much as working moms (Kristen, Mace Menendez, Kara Davis, Ashley Weisz, Leslie Doyé García, etc) & dads (yes you P Koo). Leadership: To the leaders at Airtable, especially Seth Shaw, Howie Liu, Andrew Ofstad, Katie Lampe Jonathan Zifkin . Thank you for placing your trust in me and allowing me to contribute to Airtable's shift toward the Enterprise. I'm grateful for the opportunity to work alongside exceptional leaders like Telayah Sturdivant Julia Bard Tyler Stratton Naomi Mbakwe (she / her) Tracey Liss Telayah Sturdivant Pooja Raman Michael French Becky Kaplan Phillip Eaton The Product: None of would be here without the kick ass product, vision, and leadership. Thank you Peter Deng, Ilan Frank, Anthony Maggio. Airtable is, without a doubt, the most powerful low-code app development platform out there, and it boasts the most passionate ecosystem of builders, creators, and trailblazers. My journey with Airtable opened my eyes to the limitless possibilities of Enterprise software in the era of Citizen Dev. The FUN Projects: During my time at Airtable, I had the privilege of co-creating the "Airtable Change Management Framework," with Steven Ramirez that evolved into the defacto approach and is now the "Roll Out Airtable to Your Team” Webinar. Additionally, I co-authored the blueprint for a successful "Airtable Enterprise Deployments Plan" with many other cross functional minds. 🎉 And too many others...thank for the memories, cheers! Seth Shaw liked thisSeth Shaw liked thisHello LinkedIn, as a person who doesn’t post here much, I will try to keep this short and sweet. First, a quick update on my career, after 9,5 awesome years at Wrike I left the company back in April. I needed a break, I needed to reset and recharge. A lot of things happened over the last 3 years and I felt like I needed to slow down and put something on pause. Second, I am beyond grateful for my journey at Wrike. I started when there were only around 65 people and witnessed an amazing growth and was part of it. The early days of Wrike Dublin will always be among the most favorite memories of my life. The friendships I’ve created, and the connections I’ve built. Every step of the way I had an opportunity to learn and grow. So I want to say thank you to everyone at Wrike with whom I was lucky to work! So finally, after 4 wonderful months of exploring the world, meeting with friends, and starting some fun and meaningful projects, I am back. And I am open to new opportunities in Customer Success, Professional Services, Enablement. If you know anyone who is looking for a team player who is passionate about delivering the best service to the clients, could you please share my contacts with them? Thank you and have a wonderful day! Natalia

“Seth is one of the best executives I’ve had the privilege to work for and see in action, and I’m grateful for my personal and professional growth under Seth’s guidance. He has a unique view of things that allow him to think very strategically at a high level yet be able to act and recommended very tactical approaches. Seth is one of the only executives I’ve seen make time to get into the weeds of the business and help sales reps close big deals when it mattered most. His approach and charisma would leave customers and sales reps alike in awe. Seth’s full view of the entire business is nothing short of amazing. He was very involved in every aspect, from providing the best on-boarding experience, customer success and support, to the sales process and methodology used by front line sales reps, and even product roadmap and aligning those needs to current and prospective customer needs. Seth is a true business maven and I would be hard pressed to find someone that is more experienced, skilled, dedicated and driven to help the business AND the people within it succeed. Wrike’s growth was due in large part to Seth’s vision and leadership and I’d be happy to rejoin Seth at the next juncture of our careers. ”

Great conversation with Dean Ordzowialy from Mural on how we’re using AI to be IRL more effectively. I get to be at the front edge of how we’re doing this at Outreach and pulling on so many great learnings from my peers in our customer base. It’s a great conversation- in which I talk about AI, Elephants and the next generation of Enterprise sales. Let me know what you think!
