Red Line Metro Route Timings

Being the first metro line to be inducted into the Delhi Metro network, the Red Line has become the preferred way of travel for daily commuters. The Red Line metro timings usually start at 05:30 AM, and it remains operational till 11:30 PM.

There remains a slight difference in the time of arrival of the first train every morning. The Red Line metro timing and frequency of trains on the Red line metro route also vary during peak hours, non-peak hours, weekends and weekdays.

Red Line Metro- Start Time

The Red Line of the Delhi Metro starts its operations at 5:30 AM. This means that the first metro train begins operations on the route as early as 5:30 AM.

Last Metro Time Red Line

The last metro train on the Red Line route departs at 11:30 PM. This means that the last metro on the route can be caught at 11:30 PM. After this, the metro services are halted until the next metro begins operation at 5:30 AM the next day.

Delhi Metro Red Line Route Extension

The government finally approved the Rithala-Kundli metro route under Phase 4. It is basically a huge extension of the Red Line that runs straight into Haryana.

• The route and stops: The whole stretch is roughly 26.5 kilometers long and will have 21 new stations. It starts from the old Rithala stop in Rohini and cuts right through the Bawana industrial area. It passes those massive housing complexes in Narela, and finally wraps up at Nathupur in Kundli (Sonipat).

• The build: To keep traffic from turning into a total mess during construction, they are making the entire line 100% elevated. No underground tunneling. The trains will be pretty quick too. They will cruise at around 80 to 90 km/hr. To speed things up, DMRC is going to drop pre-cast concrete pillars right onto the central road dividers.

• The money side: This is a massive Rs 6,230 crore project. The central gov is throwing in grants, while Delhi and Haryana will split the rest of the bill based on how many kilometers of track sit on their side of the border. They are also taking out loans from international groups like JICA to pay for the high-tech signaling and train coaches.

• When is it opening? DMRC is already starting to shift utility lines out of the way. Once the land acquisition wraps up, actual construction will take about four years. So, realistically, this means late 2029 or early 2030 trial runs and safety clearances.

Since the corridor connects residential neighbourhoods directly to central work zones, many daily commuters prefer staying close to metro stations instead of dealing with long and unpredictable road travel.

Areas such as Shahdara, Seelampur, Dilshad Garden, and parts of Ghaziabad continue to see steady end-user demand. For buyers looking at affordability and access together, property in Shahdara stands out because it offers direct metro connectivity to hubs like Kashmere Gate and Tis Hazari, without central Delhi pricing pressure.

On the Ghaziabad side, stations like Mohan Nagar and Shaheed Sthal have improved visibility for nearby housing societies. Better connectivity has also increased rental interest, especially among office-goers and small families searching for flats in Ghaziabad with predictable daily commute times.
