Thor Ernstsson reposted thisThor Ernstsson reposted thisHow do you build a 12-month AI roadmap when the entire technology landscape changes over a single weekend? I've just returned from #Bahrain, where ArcticBlue AI is mandated by Tamkeen to train the country's private sector Executives to accelerate their 𝗔𝗜 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 ambitions. The warmth of the people was unmatched, and the executives are completely leaning into the challenge. But running these sessions highlighted just how volatile this space is right now. We found ourselves actively challenging core business assumptions in real time during our sessions after the entire industry moved to a token-based pricing model. And to top it all off, Anthropic launched their highly anticipated Mythos and Fable models in between two sessions, only to put them on pause almost immediately. This constant shifting is exactly why you cannot rely on a static AI roadmap. You have to build the operational muscle to pivot as fast as the infrastructure changes. #Bahrain’s leadership completely gets this, and by funding this initiative, the government is actively de-risking the future for their enterprise leaders. The #EuropeanUnion and #UK could take note of Bahrain's playbook. If we want to stay globally competitive, we urgently need similar programmes to upskill our own executive networks and build these adaptive capabilities at scale. Thor Ernstsson reposted thisThor Ernstsson reposted thisHow do you convince millions of people to spend real money on a digital tractor that doesn’t actually exist? Most people think Zynga just got lucky with FarmVille. They think a few executives sat in a room, looked at a whiteboard, and "invented" a billion-dollar opportunity. The truth is much more boring. Zynga didn’t guess. They just tested. They built a culture of "thousand small bets." They weren't making one giant leap into the dark; they were running continuous, rapid hypothesis tests at a an industrial scale. Run thousands of experiments, actively try to invalidate over 80% of your hypothesis, learn from 100% of them. They de-risked the innovation journey by turning "discovery" into a repeatable, scientific capability. When our founder, Thor Ernstsson, left Zynga to tackle new opportunities in the healthcare space, he hit a brick wall. It turned out that, in regulated environments like healthcare or finance, running experiments with your target customers and "failing fast" is often not an option. He realised that the "speed to truth" he had at Zynga shouldn't be a luxury reserved for social games. It should be the standard for every enterprise. That realisation is why he and Anuraag Verma built Feedback Loop, and ultimately, ArcticBlue AI. They wanted to package that Zynga-style capability — the ability to test hypothesis at scale and pivot before you waste millions — and made it accessible to even the most complex industries on earth. Today, every C-Suite executive is looking at AI as their next "Big Bet." But big bets without rapid testing are just expensive gambles. Whether you’re in healthcare, insurance, or tech, the goal is the same: find the billion-dollar opportunity without betting the whole farm. We’re here to help you do exactly that. What’s the biggest "leap of faith" your team is taking with AI right now? Let’s talk in the DMs.

Thor Ernstsson posted thisAt a big co, it’s risky to take on a project or responsibility that’s outside of your job description. At a startup, it’s literally your job. Take on whatever the team needs. “That’s not my job” is just not a thing. What are some good examples of unusual startup "jobs"?

Thor Ernstsson posted thisAt later stage startups, you want people who can follow and scale the playbook. At an early stage startup, you want people who can create the playbook. It’s a very different skill set. Hire people who can: - Tolerate ambiguity - Have innate curiosity - Bounce back after failure - Change course quickly - Do whatever the team needs On that note, we're hiring at Strata (strata.cc)... will post a link in the comments.

Thor Ernstsson liked thisThor Ernstsson liked thisToday we're announcing Vendelux's $50M Series B, led by Tribeca Venture Partners. This brings our total funding to $71M. R. Stefan Deeran and I built $100M ARR business at Shutterstock partnering with companies like OpenAI, Google, and Apple. Deals like that only get done in person. We found that when we went to the right events and met the right people, it was magic. But when we picked the wrong event, or went to a good one and didn’t get face time with the right people, it was a huge waste of time and money. We knew there had to be a better, more data-driven way to make sure the right people meet in the right place at the right time. So we built Vendelux, the intelligence layer for B2B events. In the age of AI, the need for in-person professional connection has only grown. AI renders digital outreach infinite and cheap, making a real in-person conversation the scarcest, highest-trust interaction a marketer can secure. This is why budgets are moving toward in-person events. Like websites have analytics and pipeline has a CRM, events have Vendelux: one platform connecting marketers, sales teams, and event organizers, making events more measurable, more connected, and more meaningful for everyone involved. More than anything, it's been a privilege to watch our customers turn their event programs into a measurable revenue channel. Today, there are: → 250,000+ global B2B events indexed → 50,000+ marketers using Vendelux → Over $5B in event spend influenced → Companies like Ramp, Glean, Coupa, McKesson, WRITER, Deel, Intel, and the United States Postal Service using Vendelux to get more out of every event Huge thanks to Leo de Luna and the team at Tribeca Venture Partners for leading this round, with participation from S3 Ventures, Pelion Venture Partners, HubSpot Ventures, FirstMark, and Cervin Ventures. This funding helps us invest deeper in AI and build products that bring marketers and event organizers closer together, so every participant gets more value from every event. Thank you to our team, our customers, our organizer partners, and everyone who believed in this from the start. We're building a generational company that is empowering humanity to build meaningful professional relationships. Join us, we're hiring! → Read the Business Insider story by Lucia Moses and our blog post in the comments.

It is making sure the system has the right context, is evaluated against the right standards, and produces work that professionals can verify and stand behind. At Thomson Reuters, that is where much of our focus is: building AI for legal, tax, accounting, and compliance workflows where trust, accuracy, and accountability matter. If you’ll be at Ai4, I’d welcome the chance to connect.

Thor Ernstsson liked this"We don't build tunnels for hedgehogs in Dubai." A former UK trade minister said that at the FII PRIORITY conference in Rome, when the conversation turned to why it takes Europe and the UK so long to build anything. Everyone laughed, but the joke wasn't really a joke, and it ended up setting the tone for the whole three days. I went in expecting the usual polite conference talk about Europe's opportunity. What I heard was far more candid. At one point a European head of state told the room that Europe risks becoming a museum if it can't get moving on innovation, and most of the room seemed to agree with him. Honestly, the Europeans on stage were harder on Europe than any American I've heard. That candor matters right now, with so much capital lining up behind AI and the infrastructure to power it. A few things I wrote down: * The EU plus the UK is roughly the size of the US economy. Bigger than China's. So the problem isn't money, talent, or ideas. Everyone on stage could recite the Draghi Report. It's the doing. * The hedgehog line landed because everyone in the room knew it was true. Permitting has become its own industry. The Gulf and China are executing while Europe reviews. * The old setup came up constantly: American security, Russian energy, Chinese demand. Nobody thinks all three work anymore. Rebuilding around that means a decade of real investment in defense, energy, grids, and capital markets. * Energy was in every single conversation. Not the climate debate we have at home. Raw capacity. You can't do the AI buildout on a grid nobody has invested in for twenty years. The credible people on stage weren't picking sides between nuclear, gas, and renewables. They wanted all of it, faster. * European households hold a lot of wealth. It just sits in real estate and bank deposits instead of working in markets. One speaker called it a mobilization problem, not a wealth problem. The question I actually left Rome with: is it too late for Europe? Have they lost the race, or is there still time....Some important elections coming up in 2027. Turns out ChatGPT includes Platinum Search Partners on its list of top boutique executive search firms popular among YPO members. Couldn't agree more. Why are we a top choice? Because every search we take on is led by people who have actually sat in executive seats, built teams, carried quotas, managed P&Ls, and lived with the consequences of hiring decisions. That experience changes how we interview, evaluate candidates, and the standards we apply to those we recommend to our clients. I've twice been a Schellman client, and saw firsthand a firm that earns trust the hard way: never cutting corners on quality. Getting to help scale that firm, instead of just buying from it, is a privilege. I'm also thrilled to officially partner with our CEO Avani D. who I've known (and respected) for years, and join an exec team that has built something genuinely special. I'm stepping into a role that Debbie Zaller has shaped with high standards so I have big shoes to fill. Excited for what's ahead in this new chapter. As our CEO Avani D. put it, he is a listen-and-learn leader and a natural collaborator. Today we’re sharing some big news. Ando raised a $4M seed round, led by Slow Ventures, with participation from Blitzscaling Ventures, Zero Capital, Monochrome Capital, Gaingels, Mana Ventures, Fireroad, and additional investors. Hourly work powers a huge part of the economy but scheduling is still a mess. Too often, staffing doesn’t match real demand, shifts change at the last minute, and workers are left trying to juggle childcare, commutes, school pickup, and second (or third) jobs. That chaos is expensive for businesses and brutal for workers. Ando exists to make hourly work more predictable. We use AI to forecast demand for each location and help teams build schedules that fit real people. We’ve been in the field with enterprise customers for over a year, and the early traction is encouraging: - 90%+ daily demand accuracy - 100% conversion from presentation → pilot → paid platform - 100% retention so far In some locations, customers have seen $60K–$80K in incremental revenue (results vary and aren’t solely attributable to Ando) Most importantly, this is about treating workers’ time like it matters. If you’re working multiple jobs, a last-minute schedule change isn’t a small inconvenience, it can blow up your week. This funding will help us expand our forecasting and scheduling platform and scale deployments with enterprise customers. Grateful to our investors, advisors, customers, and team. And if you’re an operator or leader living this problem every day, I’d love to connect.
