Gerald Colton liked thisGerald Colton liked this👀 Goldman's Marcus is eyeing Ireland 🇮🇪 Here's what we know: Goldman Sachs has begun recruiting staff in Dublin to assess the viability of launching Marcus, its digital bank, in the Irish market. 💭 Goldman spokesperson Nick Carcaterra said: "We are exploring bringing our award-winning Marcus deposits business to Ireland. We have no set timeline and are making select hires to assess the product fit and determine our path forward." Why Ireland? • €220 billion sitting in household deposits • Much of it earning as little as 0.1% • A relatively uncompetitive market after the exits of NatWest Group and KBC Bank & Verzekering • Goldman already holds a Frankfurt banking licence covering EU-wide services Marcus by Goldman Sachs currently holds $100B+ in deposits gathered across the US and UK since its 2016 launch. UK customers currently get 3.75% on its on-demand savings account. This would be Goldman's first consumer banking move inside the EU. JPMorganChase just made the same step last month by launching Chase in Germany. But Ireland isn't empty though... Revolut already has 3.4 million customers in a country of 5.3 million, and Monzo launched in April. The conversations happening among global leaders and the tech community right now will help shape our shared future for decades to come. To innovate, grow, and build the global data infrastructure of tomorrow, we must anchor everything we do in trust. It's why trust has been Salesforce's #1 core value since day one, and why we established our Office of Ethical and Humane Use to help ensure we make that value real, not just aspirational. I particularly appreciated my deep conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on digital governance and the role of trust in the Era of AI. His vision for responsible technology at global scale is powerful. Collaboration was also a key theme throughout the meeting, including in my conversations with President Ursula von der Leyen, Demis Hassabis, and Arthur Mensch on secure infrastructure, innovation, and digital sovereignty. Thank you President Emmanuel Macron for bringing us together. Let's build a future we can all rely on.

He assumed his taxes were sorted. They were not. In one hour we went through his pension, his contributions, his reliefs. We found almost €16,000 he was owed back. His money. Sitting with Revenue, waiting to be claimed. He just claimed what was already his. In his words: "After a one hour call I rebalanced my portfolio for growth and reclaimed almost €16k in taxes." Most refunds like this go unclaimed, because nobody tells you they exist. Did you know you can claim overpaid tax back for the last four years?
