Bassel Haddad reposted thisBassel Haddad reposted thisGrowth doesn’t happen in the comfort zone. Neither does leadership. SkyWater’s Austin fab, Fab 25, has a long history of transformation. From its IDM roots to now a key part of a U.S.-based supply chain, the site continues to evolve to meet growing demand for secure, scalable semiconductor manufacturing. AnhThu Tran's 28-year journey reflects that same evolution. A self-described introvert, she chose to step into challenges that pushed her beyond her comfort zone. That decision shaped her path from engineer to Head of Production during a pivotal time for Fab 25. Her perspective is simple. The moments that feel the most uncomfortable are often the ones that matter most. “Leadership is a skill you build. Bassel Haddad shared thisIt’s time to rethink "scale" in quantum.. In classical semiconductors, scaling was synonymous with transistor shrink. In quantum systems, that playbook doesn’t translate. Feature size isn’t the primary constraint. Integration is. As qubit counts rise, the bottlenecks move beyond the qubit layer: • Routing density becomes architectural • Control overhead compounds • Thermal and infrastructure limits harden • Multi-die integration defines system viability The real multiplier isn’t just better qubits, it’s disciplined manufacturability across the stack. The next phase of quantum progress won’t come from disruptive resets. It will rely on systematically extending prior gains. Read my recent blog post below. #QuantumComputing #Semiconductors #AdvancedPackaging #ManufacturingBassel Haddad shared thisQuantum scaling won’t be won by lithographic shrink. In most quantum architectures, smaller nodes aren’t the primary lever. Materials quality, routing density, integration discipline, and system stability are. As qubit counts grow, scaling pressure shifts beyond the device layer. Across all of it, manufacturability is the multiplier. In his latest blog, SkyWater GM and SVP of Foundry Solutions and Technology Platforms Bassel Haddad shares why 200 mm infrastructure, advanced packaging, and integration architecture are emerging as critical enablers of sustainable quantum scale, preserving hard-won physics gains while creating a path to economic leverage. Bassel Haddad liked thisBassel Haddad liked thisFailure is the price of ambition -- one more Failure under my wing, some of them lead to success, others just heart burn. I shared with my amazing investors that I am dissolving Fortusight Inc after spending 39% of our funds - they were all graceful despite the disappointment. I have zero regrets on this journey, even with the monetary opportunity cost. Fortusight was an incredible personal success - for the first time, I built a c-corp, for the first time, I had an accountant, for the first time I ran payroll and had an employee, for the first time I had to build marketing systems, run social media campaigns, for the first time I had setup payment systems with real revenue, for the first time, I engaged VCs to invest, for the first time I had investors to relationship-manage, for the first time I learned the interdependencies between unit economics, financial plans and competition - for the first time I experienced the life of a founder - unbelievable 🙂 Did it become a unicorn? no, but that was an unrealistic goal to begin with - you can’t be sad when you take a 1% bet and lose 🙂 What's next? taking some time and space to figure that out, I'll keep you posted :-) A HUGE heartfelt thanks to all of you who helped me along this path - there are too many to count, but you know who you are, and you can count on me to find ways to reward your kindness down the road ❤️

Most of semicon players have tech roadmaps to face up with memory scarcity. ARM put on game a roadmap that addresses memory at the architectural level — broader memory interface support, integration with accelerators (HBM, CXL, chiplets), and enabling systems that don’t purely depend on legacy DIMM supply. Longer-term disruption lies in: 1. HBM adoption and advanced stacking Hybrid memory technologies (flash/HBF and persistent memory) 2. Disaggregated memory via CXL 3. Better memory–compute co-design (on-package modules, UCIe, chiplets) All of these contribute to reducing reliance on traditional DDR parts and circumventing the current supply constraints over the next 3–5+ years. #ARM #Tech #Semiconductor

Not many people realise this: there is likely a Doherty #RF #PA in your trusty neighbourhood cell tower. Integrated Doherty PA invented by Igor B. enabled wideband and compact PA solutions for modern networks. But unlike their discrete counterparts, they were held back by an invisible power ceiling driven by thermal limits among others. Now, the next generation of engineers at MILLIBEAM are dismantling this to drive very high-power integrated Doherty PAs. More to come👇 #5G #DohertyPA #6G

mmWave is no longer a lab curiosity - it is the backbone of high-capacity links in 5G, fixed wireless access, and backhaul. The attraction is simple: enormous contiguous bandwidth that boosts throughput and reduces latency when paired with smart RF design. Why it matters for RF engineers: - Capacity at scale - multi-gigabit data rates from 24 to 100+ GHz. - Spatial reuse - narrow beams and massive MIMO shrink interference footprints. - Convergence of comms and sensing - precise positioning and awareness. - Compact integration - antenna-in-package and phased arrays reduce size and cost. The tradeoffs are real: high path loss, blockage, PA efficiency, linearity, thermal density, and calibration. Winning teams embrace system co-design - link budget to packaging, RFIC to algorithms - and use hybrid beamforming, advanced materials, and intelligent power management. If you are building networks, mastering mmWave is not optional - it is the competitive edge.
